Tutorial #2, Coloring

From  to  or  with pscs 2

Make 5 new layers:-
(starting from the bottom)
Layer 1 Fill it with #fdedd4 and set it to Colorburn opacity 91%
Layer 2 Fill it with #bce9ee and set it to Colorburn opacity 100%
Layer 3 Fill it with #b1ebb1 and set it to Colorburn opacity 22%
Layer 4 Fill it with #010119 and set it to Exclusion opacity 100%
Layer 5 Fill it with #010080 and set it to Exclusion opacity 10%

Recognize this? If not then let me tell you that those steps were inspired by [info]cristal_graphix with some changes made by me.

Now comes the troublesome things!
Let's start with Curves:
Make a New Adjustment Layer >> Curves
Red: First point in the middle
Input: 128  Output: 128
         Second point
Input: 83  Output: 29
Green: First point in the middle just like in Red.
Second point :- Input: 67  Output: 70
Blue: First point exactly same as ni Red.
Second point :- Input: 62  Output: 67
To understand curves better, I suggest you to check this tut out by [info]morningstar4 IF you are a member of [info]dawn_icons2

Make a New Adjustment Layer >> Selective Colors
Reds:
Cyan -51
Magenta +3
Yellow -4
Yellows:
Cyan +99
Magenta +17
Yellow -1
Cyans:
Cyan +100
Magenta +30
Yellow +12
Neutrals:
Yellow +2

Make a New Adjustment Layer >> Hue/ Saturation
Masters +11
Reds +25
Cyans -13
Yellows -9
Magentas -5
Again, make the same kind of New Adjustment Layer
Reds +6
Yellows +8
Cyans -12
Greens -100

You can stop here or if want the dotted wallpaper background then check this tut out by [info]starbie

And voila! you're done!
I haven't used this coloring in any other icons that I have posted by this, lathough I've laready started with the next batch and there are some icons that contain this coloring..

btw, most people won't be able to read the curves entry by [info]morningstar4, it's friends only.

ja, det gör det! fast det känns ännu konstigare att skriva på eng när man vet att personen kan svenska...o.0'

Häftig färgning (gud vad konstigt att säga "färgning", haha) du har på din ikon, color burn lager va?

yep! ^^ hehe lite nyfiken kan man säga =p
yep och så lite textures också. Det är typ nästan samma sak som denna tut fast en rosa soflight lager då och bara curves och inget annat.

yep it's long >< but now that I've got used to it, I make 5 icons at the same time in like 2-3 mins with this coloring!
so it's worth it XP

Loved the tut! Meming for sure and adding to my tut list. Here's what i came up with:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I ended up deleting the Hue/Saturation layers and liking the less saturated look better. Other than that only minor adjustments.

it's good that you did that cause sometimes the images are a bit sensitive for some colorizations.

I saw above that you sometimes do 2 or 3 at a time. What a great idea. I cant beleive I havent thought of that! :P

I also added this to my tut list and will probably mention it in my next icon post. I really dig this tut. You used curves and selective coloring in a much more sensitive way then those other tuts out there right now. It's really very lovely.

I'm friending you as well. ^-^
